Seller Policy
Marmalade is a place to discover independent artists and celebrate original, creative work. We are not a traditional marketplace and as such, we don’t process payments or handle transactions.
To maintain a high-quality and trustworthy experience for everyone, we ask sellers to follow the guidelines below.
1. What Can Be Listed on Marmalade
Marmalade showcases goods rooted in real, human creativity. We only accept items that are either:
A. Handmade
These items involve direct physical creation, modification, or assembly by you.
- A.1 Designed and created entirely by hand (ex: pottery, crochet, wood carving)
- A.2 Modified or customized by hand (ex: hand-painted tote bags, altered clothing)
- A.3 Assembled by hand from components (ex: beaded jewelry, charm bracelets)
- A.4 Created using small-batch tools or tech (ex: original 3D-printed designs, Cricut-cut vinyl with your design)
B. Hand-Designed
These are original designs created by you, manufactured externally.
- B.1 Original illustrations or designs turned into products through external manufacturers (ex: prints, enamel pins)
Disallowed: AI-generated content, stock designs without modification, reselling, or dropshipping.
If you didn’t design it or physically create it, it’s not eligible for Marmalade.
2. Seller Verification
Before being featured, all sellers must complete a verification process. This helps ensure the authenticity and quality of the work on Marmalade.
- Sharing background information about you and your creative process
- Providing links to your work or behind-the-scenes photos
- Participating in a short, casual video call (unrecorded), if we need clarification
You can read more details on the Application Page.
3. Listing Guidelines
To ensure a consistent and trustworthy experience for visitors:
- Listings must link to a working, relevant product or shop page
- Listings must not include any malware, spyware, viruses or content meant to negatively impact those who click on listing links.
- Product images and descriptions must accurately represent the item
- Websites must include: a clear shipping and return policy, an About section, and contact or social information
Broken links or unclear listing destinations may result in the removal of the listing.
4. Content Integrity & Removals
We’re committed to maintaining a space that honors creative, original work. If a listing is found to include content that doesn’t meet our standards—such as AI-generated designs, resold mass goods, or repeated misuse of the platform—we may remove it at our discretion to help protect the community.
In rare cases of repeated violations, we may limit or revoke seller access to ensure Marmalade remains a trusted and curated discovery space.
5. Prohibited Content
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, we do not allow listings or external shop links that contain:
- Explicit or sexually suggestive content
- Weapons, explosives, or dangerous items (including replicas)
- Hateful, discriminatory, or violent content, including symbols, slogans, or gestures targeting any group
- Content that promotes harassment, misinformation, or abuse
Marmalade is a space for all audiences. Listings violating these standards may be removed at our discretion.
6. Language & Accessibility
At this time, Marmalade only supports listings written in English. This helps ensure clarity and trust for all visitors. Shops may include multilingual content on their external sites, but your listing on Marmalade must be in English.
